An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League was gunned down during a factional clash at Beanibazar Government College on Monday morning over establishing supremacy.

The deceased was identified as Khaled Ahmad, 23, son of Khalilur Rahman, a resident of Khasa village.

Chandan Kumar Chakrabortty, officer-in-charge of Beanibazar Police Station, said that the clash ensued between two groups - Pavel Mahmud, leader of district BCL unit and Abul Kashem Pallab, former joint convener of upazila BCL unit - in the morning.

Both groups exchanged fire during the clash, said the OC.
