Saudi expat found dead in Sylhet

The body of a Saudi expatriate was recovered from a paddy field in Guptapara village of Osmaninagar upazila on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Masuk Mia, 40, son of Sheikh Kadris Mia of the village.

Locals spotted the body and later informed police, said Sahid Ullah, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station.

Later, police recovered the body around 11:30 am, he said adding that the body bore several injury marks.

Masuk came from Saudi Arabia nearly one year ago and in the meantime he got married, said the OC.

Miscreants stabbed him death and dumped the body in the field, said police.

However, the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, the OC added.
