Rating Chess: Prizes of FIDE Rating Chess distributed

The prize-giving ceremony of the Walton International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament was held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Tuesday

Senior Operative Director and Head of Sports & Welfare of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn handed over prizes among the winners as chief guest.

KM Shahidullah, Chairman of Tournament Committee and Vice-President of Bangladesh Chess Federation presided over the ceremony. 

GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Saif Sporting Club emerged unbeaten champion securing 8 points out of 9. 

FM Kh. Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy became runner-up while Sonkalan Bharati of India became 3rd and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russel Chess Club became 4thcolleting 7.5 points each. 

Champion GM Razib received Tk 51,000 as prize money, runner-up FM Amin received 31,000, 3rd Sonkalan earned Tk 21,000 and FM Parag is richer with Tk 10,000. 

In all, 146 players, including one Grandmaster and one International Master, from Bangladesh and India participated in the nine–round Swiss League system meet.
