CPB, BSD protest Israel's atrocities
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) staged a protest rally yesterday in from of the National Press Club against shifting US embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv killing 58 and injuring 2500 Palestinians.
CPB President Mujahidul Isalm Selim expressing his concern said 70 years ago Israel invaded the area by driving away 10 lakh Palestinians from their homeland. Such heinous act was perpetrated in collaboration with the U S A.
These forces stood against us when Bengali freedom fighters were in fierce war to liberate the country. But Palestinians gave their support to the independence war in 1971. If Bangladesh government does not express its concern and urge the world powers to stop such atrocities, the people of the country will not believe that the government is imbued with the spirit of liberation war.
The leaders in the protest rally urged the countries of the world to stand against the inhuman atrocities of Israel in cooperation with the U S A to thereafter the existence and rights of the Palestinians.
They added that the U S A with an evil motive is instigating Israel to commit such crimes and create barriers to the peaceful coexistence of Palestinians in their homeland. In order to stop suchatrocities in Jerusalem, CPB and BSD will hold protest rallies across the country on May 19 and call on the government to play its right role so that the people of Bangladesh feel assured.
The protest rally was addressed by CPB General Secretary Md. Shah Alom, BSD leader Bazlur Rashid Firoz, CPB's Advocate Hasan Tarique Chowdhury, and BSD's Engineer Shampa Basu with BSD General Secretary Comrade Khalequzzaman in the chair.
