Nepal planning to use BD ports to import goods

Nepal has been planning to use Chattogram and Mongla seaports and Banglabandha land port to import goods. A 15-membr delegation led by Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh Professor Dr Chop Lal Bhusal said this during a meeting with leaders of Panchagarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) yesterday.

During the meeting, the Nepalese delegation said Nepal uses two Indian seaports to imports goods from different countries, which is time consuming and at the same time, the overall import cost goes up. So, Nepal is planning to use Chattogram and Mongla seaports and Banglabandha land port to import goods from different countries, they added.

PCCI president Abdul Hannan Sheikh, Thakurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Habibul Islam Bablu, Deputy Chief of Mission, Nepalese embassy Dhan Bahadur Oli were present, among others, at the meeting.
