BD attained food autarky: Nahid
Citing Bangladesh as a role model to the international community, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Saturday said Bangladesh has achieved food sufficiency by applying proper applications and scientific knowledge in agriculture sector.
"There is no other viable alternative other than a boost in agricultural production for the country to be a developed one and the ruling government is working on it," he said.
The minister made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a two-day International Science Conference organized by Chattogram Vetenary and Animal Science University.
Vice-chancellor Dr Goutam Buddha presided over the meeting where some 250 professionals from international arena including India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea took part in the conference.
