Bangladesh to mourn plane crash victims

Bangladesh will observe Thursday as a mourning day for the victims of the US-Bangla plane crash, Prime Minister’s Sheikh Hasina’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon has said.

Hasina convened a meeting in her office in Dhaka on Wednesday to set the day for mourning, after cutting her Singapore visit short.

Special prayers for the victims will be offered at mosques, temples, churches and pagodas on Friday.
The US-Bangla plane crashed in cloudy weather on Monday as it flew in to land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

The aircraft clipped the fence of the runway and burst into flames with 71 people on board. At least 49 people died.
