Spring summer 2018 is here. For you, we have compiled a gorgeous checklist of top trends that will help you win the fashion and style game. The fragrance of blooms fills the air; my heart takes a flight as days clear… Nights are sparkly, for spring is near! Stars twinkle as a gentle breeze blows…it's the season of love, a bird crows!

Well, well…there can't be a more awaited season than the sprightly spring. The cycle of life comes a full circle, as sunshine erases the grays, days turn longer and everything renews. It's the time to spring clean life - out with the old and in with the new! And, voila - it's also when you can add latest trends to your wardrobe to give it a new lease of life. We tell you in this consolidated blog article what the fashion pundits and top designers have marked as the leading trend must-haves for spring summer 2018 -

Close to nature:
This season, natural is in. Let your inner beauty show through in skin that's gorgeous, because it's not overdone and outfits that agree with your persona and preferences. Basic colors like beige, dull greens, off white and shades of grey will make for perfect backdrops to your closet choices. Stick to neutrals, when in doubt should be your mantra, as you let your confidence shine!

Leaves and flowers:
Flowers and floral designs are an integral part of spring and summer styles. However, this time the trend includes the whole plethora of flora - with leaves and twigs taking a bigger space in patterns and silhouettes than blossoms and blooms. Get yourself some leaf love with a chic fusion lehenga choli with peplum top - like shown here or go green in a leafy flowery printed sari. The lively pattern works in all kinds of outfits - be it ethnic or western - and even accessories. Cool leafy greens will also be a great way to beat the scoring heat - when the summers beat down in full volume.

Icy cool pastels:
Summer comes with a promise of delicious, cooling ice creams. This time, the delish, minty colors of these sumptuous creams are entering our closet spaces too - in a big way. Whether it's the hearty strawberry pink or dainty butterscotch and vanilla - these pleasant hues are you need to bring pizzaz to your garments. For added ethnic flavor, get yourself a pretty pink anarkali or a lovely coconut brown kurta.

Chequered class:
Stump your rivals with this winning checkmate trend. Plaids, checks or grids - whatever you prefer calling them - are trending now like never before in the females' garments segment. So, get some inspiration from your beau's wardrobe and incorporate checkered patterns, weaves and designs in your personal spring collection. Invest in a splendid checked pattern Kanjivaram saree that will last for eternity or get gorgeous in plaid patterned kurtis.

Animals and birds:
Well, pun unintended - as you get ready for this Valentine's Day and the forthcoming season of intense amour - let some animal love seep into your closet space too. How? Whether it's the good old saree or a chic Indo western kurta, animal prints, patterns and motifs are elegant and haute. Invest in a classic Kalamkari saree, handbook dupatta or an Indian suit with animal design. You can also go for leopard print sheer capes and accessories. Just don't overdo this trend!

Fringes and tassels: Fringes, tassles, frills or ruffles - they all add drama to design and fashion, this season. Add a generous dose of fringes, fancy edgings or other hanging details to your ensembles - and see how you turn heads! Fringe details can be a part of the base fabric or may be added as an extra edging/ lace. Beads and sequined fringed sarees, gowns and tops are quite understand vogue and so are cow boy style fringed western separates. Get yourself a fringed bag, if nothing else appeals you.

Ruffled magic: A little puff here and a cute ruffle there - and you have the season's haughtiest trend on spot. From Barbie style ruffled gowns to ruffle bell sleeves and more - there are just so many ways you can bag thus cutesy style edge. We leave this to your imagination!

Purple passion: Ultraviolet or the purple palette is the Pantone color of year. Get this hue right and you have one of the most versatile and vivacious color in your armor. From pretty mauves to ultra stylish amethyst and intense wines - you will never fall short of myriaf moods here. Go, indulge!

Sheer show: Show off in show through! Incorporate transparency this spring summer with plastic and vinyl clothing, accessories or extras. Or, if you would rather stick to basics, get some sheer capes, ponchos or kaftaans; add to your kurtis, western ensembles, suits or even sarees.

Sporty chic: Sporty goes spirited now in one of the biggest fashion trends across the globe. Athlesisure clothing - simply put - is fashionable lounge and sportswear - that's now being worn with elan at workplaces and vacations. For ethnic wear athlesisure edge, get kurtis and blouses in hosiery fabrics or drape your georgette saree stylishly over a pair of gymwear leggings. (excerpt)
