Development Fair attracts huge visitors on holiday in Ctg

On the second day of 3-day long Development Fair held at MA Aziz CJKS Gymnasium ground in the port city witnessed huge rush of visitors on Friday. People from all walks of life thronged the fair from Friday morning and the crowd increased in the evening.   Visitors enjoyed the colorful decoration of the Bangladesh Army stall with camouflage net, where they got the opportunity to get their blood tested, measure their height and health advices.  

On the other hand, there is an arrangement of LED display for showing the activities of the Bangladesh Army in developing the infrastructure of the country.  People also can learn about the modern weaponries collected during the tenure of the present government. They also enjoyed attractive sites in the Chittagong Hill Tracts including Sajek and Nilgiri.

In the fair visitors also can have look of the present development activities of the different government organizations. A total of 119 stalls have been set up in the fair for displaying their development activities.  The fair will open from 9 am to 10 pm every day. Earlier, a three-day "Development Fair-2018" kicked off in the port city on Thursday aimed at sharing information about the development activities of the government.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-day Unnayan Mela (Development Fair) through a video conference from her Gonobhaban residence Thursday. Organized by Chittagong district administration, Secretary to the President's Office Shampad Barua inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.

The fair is arranged in front of Chittagong M A Aziz Stadium Gymnasium hall.  Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chittagong Zillur Rahman Chowdhury, presided over the function, while Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Abdul Mannan spoke as special guest on the occasion.

Speaking at the function, the chief guest said Bangladesh has been marching towards a middle income nation following tremendous successes in socio economic area achieved by the present government in every sector.
Barua said the main purpose of the fair is to display various development activities of present government before nation and its people.

"Nobody in the world now considers Bangladesh as a country of natural disasters, corruption and poverty any more. It has now become a model of development," he added. Barua said, adding the present government has taken various initiatives to achieve middle-income country status where poverty will completely be eradicated by 2021.

Earlier, a colorful rally was brought out from the City's Circuit Houses led by the Chittagong divisional commissioner Abdul Mannan. The rally ended on the Gymnasium hall premises after parading through main streets of the port city.
