Ferry services resume after 7 hours

  • Print

Movement of ferries on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed on Friday morning after seven hours of disruption due to dense fog. Nasir Mohammad Chowdhury, AGM of commerce at Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) of Paturia Ghat, informed that ferry movement resumed at about 10:30 am.

The BIWTC authorities suspended plying of ferries on the route around 3:30am on Thursday aimed at avoiding any type of untoward incident, he said. During the suspension, about 500 vehicles, including passenger buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded.
