Road accidents kill four in three districts
At least four people were killed in separate road accidents in Magura, Madaripur and Faridpur districts on Friday. Our Faridpur correspondent said two persons were killed in a road accident on the Bhanga-Mawa Highway in Brahmanpara area under Azimpur union in the district on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sujat, 38, and microbus driver Mosharraf, 37, said officer-in-charge of Bhanga police station Syed Abdullah. The OC said the accident took place around 8am when a bus skidded off on the road due to dense fog and hit the road divider, leaving the two dead on the spot.
Our Madaripur correspondent said a driver of a passenger bus died and 12 others injured as the driver lost his control over the steering and the bus fell into a ditch in Kalkini upazila of the district on Friday. The accident took place in Notunpat Hat area of the upazila. Driver Babul died on the spot. Injured were admitted to hospital in Barial.
Meanwhile, Magura correspondent said a policeman was killed as a truck crushed his motorcycle in Sadar upazila on Friday. The deceased policeman was identified as Amirul Islam, 30, an inhabitant of Rajdharpur village under Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
