‘Disasters could not stop development’

Member of Parliamen-tary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and Natore District AL General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Shimul said, neither natural nor man-made disasters had been able to pose obstruction on the way the government operated development activities across the country.

Work have been started to eradicate terrorism and militancy from the country. He added that Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The government has achieved remarkable succeeded in this respect. The people of the country are now in peace. The government has developed the country in four years; its benefits are now in the homes of people.

The MP said this while inaugurating Developm-ent Fair with the theme 'Role Model of Development, Sheikh Hasina's Bangladesh' in Natore. Among others, Deputy Commissioner Shahina Khatun, District Additional Superintendent of Police Khairul Islam and other officials and employees of different government departments were present at the inauguration program.

A colorful rally was also brought out on the occasion, which ended in the Kanaikhali field after crossing the main streets. Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the countrywide 3-day Development Fair-2018 through video-conferencing.

The achievements of the government are highlighted at 109 stalls in the fair that is aimed at informing the common people of the economic and social achievements of Bangladesh. After the inauguration ceremony, MP Shimul visited each stall and gave instructions for the future.
